Pied Wagtail I dont think so!

In the Netherlands, there are a lot of dark wagtails, that are easily mistaken for female Pied Wagtails Motacilla yarrellii. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. Depicted below is a rather extreme example. Once you realise that this bird is (behaving like) a male, you will see that it is not the real deal. That is why I only identify birds with completely black upperparts as Pied Wagtails over here.

Think again, before claiming a female-type Pied Wagtail!
