Balearic Flycatcher illustrated |
A few years ago, a very useful article was published in Dutch Birding about the
identification of Mediterranean Flycatcher Muscicapa tyrrhenica.
One of the taxa discussed was Balearic Flycatcher M t balearica,
which looks short-winged, pale and clean in comparison with Spotted
Flycatcher M striata (Viganò et al 2019). Depicted below are some photos and sound-recordings I took of this interesting flycatcher with its high-pitched and hummingbird-like vocalisations on Mallorca in April-May 2022. |
